Starting this April, the Creative Corps and its full array of live-streamed virtual coaching events will open its doors, making it our most feature-rich tier of membership for new site users interested in taking their teaching game to the highest level of play.

But here’s the best part: anyone who’s been a member of the EMC² Learning community as an Engagement Engineer before April 1, 2022 will automatically see their membership upgraded to this new tier of access to enjoy all of the benefits of the Creative Corps at no additional cost. It’s our way of saying THANK YOU for supporting this first year of EMC² Learning!

With three books and hundreds of conference presentations between them, Michael and John have more than a few colorful stories to share about playful pedagogy. But the game is ever changing – and the Virtual Conference Breakout Session series allows EMC² Learning to open our doors to a never-ending online conference. Members of the Creative Corps Cohort have the best seat in the house: exclusive invitation to join us for hour-long breakout style presentations devoted to sharing the latest research and application of how we can continue to innovate and improve our instruction by mastering even higher levels of play.

Knowing just where to start when you have 24/7 access to a full library of 300+ fully editable resources (and counting) can be daunting! So each month, the newest installment in the Unlock Webinar Series offers a closer look at a handful of resources curated from the larger collection, centered around a unifying theme or time of the year. Whether you’re looking for a high-energy back-to-school activity to help students hit the ground running, or an end-of-unit alternative assessment that can help turn a ho-hum exam into an all-out Boss Battle, the Unlock series provides a step-by-step walkthrough of how specific EMC² Learning activities can click together in your classroom to help you change the game.

Each installment of the Q&A Countdown functions much like a live radio call-in show, recorded in real-time with each new 60 minute episode dedicated to taking a closer look at a single topic. Fast-paced and driven by easy-to-implement action items, the Q&A Countdown breaks a new single “big idea” issue down into ten smaller subtopics, and offers session attendees the opportunity to ask questions, discuss challenges, and share examples from their own classrooms to help create lasting change in the face of an ever-evolving educational landscape.

Design Team Listening Sessions offer teachers the chance to join in members-only group coaching and receive specific, actionable feedback regarding any questions or considerations that they’ve encountered on their journey towards creating a more student-centered classroom. These sessions likewise offer our partner teachers the opportunity to share how individual activities from the EMC² collection might or might not be working in an individual teacher’s classroom, as well as the chance to share new areas of need that can serve as the springboard for additional resources that can be added to our ever-expanding library.

EMC² Learning is proud to approach the work we do with a commitment to “Engagement at the Speed of Life.” That means we’re always keeping our finger on the pulse of what’s trending, and doing our very best to help teachers capture all of the fun and excitement of the things that are making waves in the fast-paced world outside of education. The result? An endless stream of rigorous, relevant teaching activities that harness the power of play and help educators change the game in any classroom. Inventor Sprint events challenge members of the Creative Cohort to take a case study game or trend from outside of the classroom and ask ourselves what might happen if we applied the same design elements to increase engagement in our lesson plans? And working together, we discover all kinds of innovative ways to upgrade our teaching game.

The Edcamp model of professional development begins with the notion that click-through slideshows simply aren’t every teacher’s cup of tea. Part cognitive teacher therapy session and part blue sky brainstorming phase, these working sessions draw strength from the maxim that “the smartest person in the room is the room itself.” Much like the physical Edcamp events, each trip to the EMC² Drafting Table provides a virtual unconference to offer attendees the freedom to bounce between a series of free-flowing breakout rooms to strike up new conversations or tune into different topics at any time throughout the event.

Are you new to teaching or looking for simple steps to help you make the shift to a more student centered classroom? We’ve got you covered. Think of this webinar series like a Master class in everything you’ll need to know in order to maximize student engagement while still maintaining your sanity through all the usual red tape including grading, curriculum, classroom management, and standardized testing. The Student Centered Playbook Essentials series is a great place to find a mentor with a friendly ear as we share stories, field questions, and trade tips and tricks learned from more than twenty years in a student centered classroom.

Have you put a clever twist on an EMC² Learning resource? Let’s face it: sometimes the best games on the planet are made even better with a little bit of love and some good old fashioned “house rules.” And in the Engagement Engineer Idea Open House, teachers from classrooms all around the world come together to share success stories of how they’ve changed the game in their instruction through the use of playful pedagogy and student-centered instruction. Come join the party and take your rightful place in the spotlight as we celebrate endless ways to play!

We hope you’ll consider joining us as an Engagement Engineer to unlock a full year of site access. For complete details including our exclusive limited time offer for annual site membership, click here.
