11 New Pop-And-Swap Item Card Templates: Collect Them All!

We hope you’ll forgive us for a quick trip down memory lane, but…

As kids, we loved playing with trading cards! From pro sports to Pokémon, we would spend hours organizing and rearranging our collections, studying the artwork and stats on each card. If your childhood was anything like ours, then we’re sure you remember that distinct sense of pride that came from putting all of your prized possessions into their neat little binder to show off to your friends and family members.

And of course we all remember the nervous joy and excitement that came from keeping tabs on your collection and trying to collect all the cards in a particular set or negotiate a trade for a particularly rare or valuable card. From the old school wax packs with stale bubblegum to the super rare holofoils that were only sold at *that one place* in the mall… it was always so exciting to open a new pack of cards and see what treasures it held!

This week, EMC² Learning is proud to draw our inspiration from these carefree and joyful times and the sense of community, wonder and awe that they enkindled. We have such fond memories of those days and the joy that trading cards brought us! And so we decided to go “old school” with an all-new lineup of eleven (count ’em, ELEVEN) fully editable item card templates to help Engagement Engineers everywhere add that same spirit of collectible excitement to their lesson plans with the simple push of a button.

Game on!

And this week, EMC² Learning is proud to add eleven brand new and fully editable item card templates to our ever expanding library of game-changing resources. In fact, we’ve got more than 30 different designs to choose from (and counting!).

Simply select the template that’s right for you, and use the lightning fast pop-and-swap editor to inject a splash of your course content. Students can collect and trade these cards with their classmates, or use them to unlock special privileges or bonuses within the game. Collectible, tradable, and infinitely versatile — item cards add a welcome element of play to your pedagogy, and can be a great way to motivate and engage students of any age!

Take the Self-Paced Skill Builder Course

Items and Power Ups are some of our favorite additions to just about any game. And once you bring these same principles into your classroom, is what sets a gamified lesson plan apart from the rest of the players. No matter if you are building a one day activity or a year long game these are sure to take the experience to the next level.

If you’re serious about this particular aspect of playful pedagogy and looking to dive even deeper down the proverbial rabbit hole, we’ve even gone ahead and put together a self-paced video course that will guide you step-by-step through all sorts of ways to bring this strategy to life in your classroom. This on-demand course is included with your annual membership as an Engagement Engineer, and it features 21 bite-sized skill building modules that will help walk you through the how, what, and why behind designing (and using) collectible items for your classroom. Even better: once you’ve made your way through the course materials, you’ll have full access to our complete library of 30+ item card templates — including the latest retro inspired design variants — to help you get in the game in no time!

EMC² Learning is home to more than 500 fully editable resources for any course or content area. Engagement Engineers and members of the Creative Corps enjoy a full year of access to each of these resources on demand. We hope you’ll consider joining us to unlock a full year of site access. For complete details including our exclusive limited time offer for annual site membership, click here.
