For years now, John and I have joked that EMC² Learning sometimes feels a little like the Walt and Roy Disney partnership.
John is the dreamer. The showman. The guy constantly chasing the next big idea for the classroom while making sure teachers and students alike have an unforgettable experience once they step through the gates. He thrives on creativity, energy, storytelling, and designing resources that make learning feel alive.
Me? I’m probably more like Roy.
I love the systems behind the magic.
The infrastructure. The organization. The behind-the-scenes work that keeps the whole thing running long after the spotlight fades and the crowd heads home for the night. I care deeply about sustainability, scalability, functionality, and building systems sturdy enough to support the big dreams we keep throwing at them.
And over the past several weeks, that’s exactly what we’ve been doing.
Today, we’re incredibly excited to officially announce the single largest update in EMC² Learning history.
The dust has finally settled. The temporary “under construction” signs have come down. And our “Pedagogy Theme Park” (metaphorically speaking, of course) is bigger, brighter, cleaner, and faster than ever before.
Behind the scenes, we completed a massive overhaul of the EMC² Learning platform from top to bottom. That includes upgraded servers, dramatically faster navigation, cleaner layouts, smarter organization tools, and major improvements to how schools and large groups manage accounts.
Some of the biggest updates include:
• Faster load times across the entire site
• Cleaner, brighter, more intuitive page layouts
• Bookmarking tools so you can quickly save favorite resources
• Simplified account management through one streamlined dashboard
• Easier upgrades, renewals, and subscription management
• Improved large-group functionality for schools, departments, and teams
• Streamlined login distribution for administrators managing multiple users
For schools especially, this is a huge leap forward. Administrators can now manage and distribute access far more efficiently than ever before, making onboarding smoother and less time-consuming for everyone involved.
And while a lot of these improvements live behind the scenes, we believe the best systems are the ones you barely notice because everything simply works the way you hoped it would.
If you happened to spot a weird font, an odd button placement, or a random page looking slightly “under renovation” over the past few weeks… thank you for your patience. Updating and refreshing more than 1,500 pages while continuing to build new resources at the same time was no small undertaking.
But we believed it was worth it.
Because EMC² Learning has never been about posting a bunch of cheap or flimsy teaching worksheets. It’s about building a sustainable place where teachers can return year after year to find ideas, inspiration, support, and practical tools that genuinely make classroom life better.
So from both of us: thank you.
Thank you for supporting two classroom teachers just crazy enough to keep building this thing together year after year. During our prep periods. Between stacks of grading papers. On our weekends. And over our holiday breaks. Thank you for the messages, the feedback, the encouragement, and the trust.
We’re so incredibly proud of where the platform is today.
And we’re even more excited about where it’s headed next.
