Catch EMC² Learning on the Road LIVE

Looking for high-energy professional development that blends just the right balance of “big picture” research and theory with hands-on practical application? Then you’ve come to the right place!

Let’s face it: most traditional teacher PD is… well… kind of awful. In countless schools around the world, teachers are subjected to one-size-fits-few “workshops” that are often little more than a collection of aspirational platitudes or intermittent deep dives into “best practices” that, while sound in theory, can be awfully hard to put into practice. And what’s worse, the overwhelming majority of these sessions are typically presented in a “do as I say, not as I do” format where a main stage lecture-based presentation rails against the effectiveness of using this very same outdated pedagogical technique in our classrooms.

At EMC² Learning, we take a different approach. We know that adults learn differently than students, and we recognize that educators deserve to have their time respected while taking part in meaningful, memorable professional development that goes light years beyond polite ice breakers and “forced fun.”

That’s why this summer, EMC² Learning will be hitting the road for a series of conferences, workshop, and teacher training events across the United States. Our goal: help educators experience the power of purposeful play firsthand, and work with Engagement Engineers in schools around the country to help unlock higher levels of student-centered, feedback-focused engagement strategies where creativity meets content knowledge.

Our first stop? Louisville, Kentucky and the Imagining the Future of Learning conference at Bellarmine University!

Imagine The Future of Learning Conference - June 6, 2023

Imagine the Future of Learning Conference

Tuesday, June 6

Bellarmine University – Allen Hall
Louisville, Kentucky

The value of technology in education is determined in large measure by the ways we use those technologies for teaching and learning. This conference will be a high-quality professional development opportunity for all participants, creating :

  • A vision of learning for the future that will improve student achievement

  • A vision supported through exploration and dialog with an expert on effective methods for engaging students

  • Hands-on experience in an educational environment

Participants will engage in activities to reinforce their learning. By the end of the conference, participants will have begun constructing a vision of learning that will impact education throughout the region.

The registration fee for Archdiocese of Louisville teachers, Oldham County Schools teachers, and Bellarmine University personnel is being covered by the respective institutions. All others have a registration fee of $60 due on June 6th, payable by check or cash.

The activities featured in this blog post are just a handful of the 600+ resources available in the EMC² Learning library. This entire library is available to Engagement Engineers and members of the Creative Corps, and is included with your annual site membership. We hope you’ll consider joining us as an Engagement Engineer to unlock a full year of site access. For complete details including our exclusive limited time offer for annual site membership, click here.
