Looking for high-energy professional development that blends just the right balance of “big picture” research and theory with hands-on practical application? Then you’ve come to the right place!
Let’s face it: most traditional teacher PD is… well… kind of awful. In countless schools around the world, teachers are subjected to one-size-fits-few “workshops” that are often little more than a collection of aspirational platitudes or intermittent deep dives into “best practices” that, while sound in theory, can be awfully hard to put into practice. And what’s worse, the overwhelming majority of these sessions are typically presented in a “do as I say, not as I do” format where a main stage lecture-based presentation rails against the effectiveness of using this very same outdated pedagogical technique in our classrooms.
At EMC² Learning, we take a different approach. We know that adults learn differently than students, and we recognize that educators deserve to have their time respected while taking part in meaningful, memorable professional development that goes light years beyond polite ice breakers and “forced fun.”
That’s why this summer, EMC² Learning will be hitting the road for a series of conferences, workshop, and teacher training events across the United States. Our goal: help educators experience the power of purposeful play firsthand, and work with Engagement Engineers in schools around the country to help unlock higher levels of student-centered, feedback-focused engagement strategies where creativity meets content knowledge.
