Hey folks! John here.
I’m beyond grateful to share some incredible news with you all. It’s with immense joy and gratitude that I announce I’ve been awarded the 2024 Friend of PAECT award by the Pennsylvania Association for Educational Communications and Technology (PAECT).
Year after year, PAECT continues to pioneer the transformation of education in the digital age, and it has been a true honor to take part in all sorts of events and learning opportunities as a direct result of the incredible work that they do. With their steadfast commitment to innovation and collaboration, PAECT fosters an amazing community where educators can exchange ideas, access cutting-edge resources, and harness the power of technology to enhance learning experiences for students of any age. Hands down, the Keystone Technology Innovator’s conference (KTI) is the single most impressive and engaging educational conference and training experience I have ever had the incredible privilege of being a part of. Not only was it there where I delivered my first ever keynote presentation way back before the publication of my first book, but it has also been the birthplace for so many lifelong and lasting friendships with some of the most passionate, dynamic educators I have ever had the incredible good fortune to connect. Year after year, it has been a joy to return to this place where it all began and laugh, learn, and imagine all kinds of new possibilities for our classrooms with each new incredible cohort of educators from across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
This recognition is truly humbling. To be acknowledged by such an esteemed organization is a testament to the power of collaboration and the importance of what can happen when we blend the very best parts of time tested teaching techniques like student-centered instruction with innovative teaching practices like gamification. I owe this honor to the incredible educators (like the EMC² Learning community!), who truly do inspire me and Michael to continue to “step up our game” in the awesome service of educators around the world each and every day.
Once again, I want to express my deepest appreciation to PAECT for this recognition and for their unwavering support of educators. And of course, I also want to thank my co-author, co-founder and friend, Michael Matera, and everyone at EMC² Learning for their endless encouragement and dedication to transforming education.
To all the educators out there who share my passion for student engagement and meaningful learning experiences, THANK YOU! Your dedication to making a difference in the lives of students is what drives us forward each day. Michael and I are excited to continue this journey with all of you, pushing the boundaries of education and creating positive change in classrooms around the world.
Like any great game, there are so many more levels of this thing to come!!!
Stay tuned for more adventures in education, and thank you for being part of this incredible journey.
