Time to let the cat out of the bag! It was sixteen weeks ago when we opened the doors to EMC² Learning. But what you might not know is that it was actually a full sixteen months ago when we first began work on the top secret project that we are proudly calling our 2021 Summer Surprise. You see, our Summer Surprise is actually the origin story behind how EMC² Learning came to be. In truth, we’ve been keeping it top secret since the inception of this amazing community.
Spoiler: It took some serious work and we’ve been dying to share the news with the world for a full sixteen months, but the day has finally arrived.
We made a thing. And we think you’re going to love it!
Fully Engaged: Playful Pedagogy for Real Results marks the next level of our combined efforts, and we can’t wait to share it with you! This all-new book will offer hundreds of new, newly enhanced, and never-before-published student engagement activities that can quickly and easily be adapted for use in ANY course or content area. If you’re a fan of our previous work, we think this new addition to our playful family of teacher resources does an outstanding job of blending the creative spirit and intentionality of eXPlore Like a Pirate with the dynamic, pulse-pounding pedagogy of EDrenaline Rush.
But the thing that we are perhaps most excited about with the upcoming publication of Fully Engaged is how we think it can bring an entirely new audience to this powerful, playful world of student-centered pedagogy. In short: there’s some serious science behind how and why playful pedagogy works. And Fully Engaged offers what we think is the perfect balance between thought-provoking research and practical lesson planning advice to help teachers of all experience levels make some serious strides thanks to the power of play.
As was the case with each of our previous books, we are thrilled to announce that the publication of Fully Engaged is being made possible thanks to the enthusiastic support of the amazing team at Dave Burgess Consulting. The book is scheduled for release later this summer.
