Host a Review Day Game Show

Congratulations, teachers! June is just around the corner, and that can only mean one thing: we’ve made it to the home stretch of another incredible school year. It’s time to bask in the well-deserved glory of your hard work and dedication! That’s why this week, EMC² Learning has decided to roll out the red carpet with three all-new resources to help you end the year in high style.

When looking back on our own educational history, we can’t help but smile to think that so many of our own personal favorite teachers of all time always seemed to have just one more trick up their sleeve right as we made our way into those final days of the school year. And as it turns out, there’s actually a ton of science to support their reasons for doing so: it’s called the “peak-end rule.”

Based on the work of Barbara Fredrickson and Daniel Kahneman, the “peak-end rule” is a clever psychological heuristic which suggests that most people tend to over-remember not just the highs and lows that played out over the course of a much longer time period — but that some of our most enduring memories are actually influenced all the more by the way that things end. In other words? It pays to finish strong.

So as we count down the days until the close of the school year, EMC² Learning invites you to take a moment and imagine something truly extraordinary: instead of button mashing your way through another brightly colored online guessing game — why not transform your classroom into an instructional gameshow!?!

This week, EMC² Learning is proud to roll out three all new resources that we’ve designed to help teachers finish their year on the highest of high notes. Get ready to elevate your classroom experience to new heights and make learning an epic finale that your students will never forget.

Serve Up a Survey Surprise...

Think you have your finger on the pulse of what everyone is talking about? Survey Surprise puts a classroom friendly twist on Family Feud — and gives teachers the opportunity to create a lighthearted review activity where students put in some serious work to solve all kinds of clever countdowns of your creation. In this high stakes guessing game, your students will have the opportunity to see if they can make a series of educated guesses and find themselves dialed into the hottest topics of conversation in town.

Do you have what it takes to keep pace with the latest trends?!

Or Join the Pyramid Party...

Whether you’re a fan of the “O.G.” $10,000 version of the show or more familiar with its $100,000 descendent — “Pyramid” is an exhilarating and fast-paced game show that challenges contestants to test their knowledge, word association skills, and quick thinking abilities. And since this beloved game show is just as low prep to learn as it is high energy to play, we set to task carving out an interactive classroom resource to help teachers bring this classic team-against-team showdown to life in their next lesson plan.

Tap into the power of play and see what epic word associations your students can come up with!

Or Pack a Punch in 25 Words or Less!

Giving students the chance to speak their mind can be a total game-changer when you’re looking to increase engagement at any age. And in 25 Words or Less, your students will have the chance to do exactly that. The catch? They’ll need to watch what they say and make every word count!

Fully illustrated and fully editable for any course, grade level, or content area, this interactive template will transform your classroom into a high-stakes game of packing a serious punch into as small a word count as possible. Brevity is the soul of wit, after all.

The activities featured in this blog post are just a handful of the 600+ resources available in the EMC² Learning library.
