Hi folks. John here! And I’ve got some exciting news to share from the front lines of education and innovation.
(Drumroll please…)
I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve been selected to join the Pulitzer Center’s Information & Artificial Intelligence Teacher Advisory Council — a national cohort of educators working at the intersection of journalism, ethics, and emerging technology. This prestigious opportunity brings together a small, multidisciplinary group of thought leaders from across the country to explore some of the biggest questions facing our classrooms today. In the months ahead, here are just a few of the topics that we’ll be tackling together:
- How is AI reshaping the world of education?
- What stories are (and aren’t) being told about this rapidly evolving technology?
Â
- And how can teachers lead the charge in creating thoughtful, ethical, and equitable learning experiences in the age of artificial intelligence?
Over the next few months, our council will partner with award-winning journalists, researchers, and Pulitzer Center leaders to:
- Dive deep into underreported stories surrounding AI and information accountability
- Collaborate on educator training modules to help teachers make sense of this new frontier
- Share practical tools, resources, and real-world insights to support AI literacy in schools
- Represent our classrooms and communities on a national stage
It’s a powerful opportunity — not just for me, but for all of us at EMC² Learning. The work we’ve been doing to bring playful pedagogy, meaningful engagement, and ethical tech integration into classrooms is exactly what this moment calls for. And now, with the backing of the Pulitzer Center, we’re excited to keep leveling up.
And for the incredible worldwide community of teachers in classrooms around the world that make up the EMC² Learning community, this means even more. As this collaboration unfolds, EMC² Learning will serve as a direct bridge from Pulitzer’s world-class reporting and research straight into your classroom. With the support of this future-ready cohort, we’ll be that much more prepared and qualified to help deliver game-changing teaching tools, techniques, and strategies in all sorts of resources that we offer to our worldwide community of educators. Moreover, this partnership will help provide you with early access to cutting-edge insights, educator-facing resources, and expert guidance that few outside this network ever get to see — let alone apply. This is the kind of rare, real-world connection that puts teachers not just in the loop, but in the lead.
(There’s a reason why we call ourselves EMC² Learning, you know. Keeping up with the cutting edge of education is what we do around here. And it’s always our intention to provide our community of educators precisely the sort of tools, techniques, and teaching strategies that help them master the elusive art of “Engagement at the Speed of Life.”)
Stay tuned for more updates as the fellowship kicks off this June. We can’t wait to share what we learn — and to help build a brighter, bolder, and more accountable future for our students.
Let’s do this!
