Cyber Incident Response Protocol
In the extremely unlikely event of a cyber security breach, timely and thorough action to manage the impact of the incident is critical to ensure an effective response process. Partner schools should be advised that at no time will student data or the data of any legal minors (<18) ever be collected, stored, or shared within the EMC2 Learning website (“platform”). The scope of individual usernames and login credentials for the platform is restricted to individual use by member teachers only. The response is designed to mitigate potential for damage to EMC2 Learning and our partner educators by ensuring that appropriate actions are well known and coordinated. Specifically, the response goals are:
1. Preserve and protect the confidentiality of constituent and employee information and ensure the integrity and availability of EMC2 Learning systems, networks and related data.
2. Help EMC2 Learning personnel recover their business processes after a computer or network security incident or other type of data breach.
3. Provide a consistent response strategy to system and network threats that put EMC2 Learning data and systems at risk.
4. Develop and activate a communications plan including initial reporting of the incident as well as ongoing communications, as necessary.
5. Address cyber related legal issues.
